the brand new electropop.2 compilation through the german label conzoom records. electropop.2 will feature many new and fresh bands with wonderful electro- and synthpop-sounds. every track on the compilation will be in an exclusive extended version. the compilation is strictly limited to 777 numbered pysical copies - no digital release... and electropop.1, which was released last october, is nearly sold out and so a rare collector's item right now!

time to catch up with moose from alaskahighway to find out what has been going on... we're all very glad to see that the 2nd album has finally been released. why name the album 'closure'? well, most of these tracks were written in 2005/06 at my old studio, with anthony leaving the project in late 2006, so this album has been around for a while just waiting to be finished. it was time to end that chapter of the alaskahighway story so calling the album 'closure' made sense. time to release this music to our fans & move on... where did the cover artwork come from? i'm a photographer in my spare time so i have a huge picture library on my computer. this cover works with the 'closure' theme in the way that the partnership is now over and we have both sailed away... you said that anthony has left the project. what are the members of alaskahighway doing now? i'm working with a really talented vocalist, who just happens to be my girlfriend, called rose on a project called 'among the weeds'. anthony actually introduced us in late 2006 & i heard her demo mixes & was blown away by the power in her voice & the quality of the song writing. i was initially brought in to be the programmer, to simply take her concepts & make the album, but it soon became clear that a full-blown writing partnership was the way to go. we eventually drafted in a couple of friends to play bass & guitar to add power & variation to the project. 'among the weeds' draws on many influences but is not easily identifiable - its primarily electronic-based but has a lot of organic elements to it. it really is quite a privilege to be in this band and everyone who has heard our music knows we are destined to big things. anthony is currently working on a solo project called 'monastic', which draws influences from many regions of the world & fuses them in to a unique experience. i've worked with anthony live and people's reaction to the shows has been enormous. he really has something worthwhile. any future plans for alaskahighway? we'll be releasing tracks on compilations throughout the year, the first being the electropop.2 cd on conzoom records. there are also some remixes in the pipeline too... any last words for your readers? thanks for waiting! the album has definitely been worth the effort... |
